David Wiener, Co-Founder and System Architect
David has over 25 years experience in programming, systems analysis and administration, network design and technical project management. At Duke University School of Medicine, David served as the chief technologist responsible for the creation and implementation of BlueDocs, the precursor of LCMS+. He also served as the chief technology liaison for the Office of Medical Education at Duke’s Graduate School of Medicine in Singapore and led collaborative efforts to achieve synergy between Singapore and Duke School of Medicine in Durham, NC.
David has also served as an Invited Expert in the MedBiquitous Consortium, an international group of experts from professional medical and healthcare associations, universities, commercial, and governmental organizations dedicated to advancing healthcare education through technology standards that promote professional competence, collaboration, and better patient care.
Allison’s communication expertise, her ability to assemble smart, creative teams and her passion for problem-solving provide the framework of her contributions to LCMS+. As a copywriter for Grey Advertising (a Top Ten global ad agency), she created print, radio, television, online and collateral advertising for clients across multiple industries. As owner of her own executive communications firm, Allison offered speechwriting and presentation coaching to leaders in higher education, technology and the non-profit sector, as well as consulting on strategic marketing, branding and editorial projects for numerous startup companies. Allison is proud to have brought LCMS+ into the fold at the American Underground in Durham, one of only seven Google for Entrepreneurs Tech Hubs in North America.
Niecka graduated with a degree in Anthropology from UNC-Chapel Hill, following her life-long passion for understanding different cultures. She speaks multiple languages including Farsi and Arabic. After college, Niecka sought to be part of the business world and found the perfect opportunity at LCMS+ where she can positively impact the lives of others through the education of medical professionals.
Fitz has been working with learning management solutions and institutions of higher learning for more than 15 years. Most recently as Vice President of Product Management at C8 Sciences, a Yale Medical School company, Fitz brought to market an online program for clinicians and educators who work with kids with cognitive disorders. Prior to that, he was national Implementation Director for CompassLearning, building a database of professional development best practices; and Director of Professional Development at Renzulli Learning Systems, a University of Connecticut company that created online learning programs for the gifted and talented.
Fitz spent four years at the US Department of Education as a policy and grant manager, working in numerous secondary and postsecondary programs. His work in education began in the classroom as a public high school teacher in Spotsylvania, Virginia.
Jon received his degree in Biology and Environmental Science from UNC-Chapel Hill. He has since worked in the software support industry as a customer service representative and is dedicated to providing thoughtful and knowledgeable assistance to customers in need. It was during a study abroad experience in the Galapagos Islands that Jon first came to recognize the need for the expansion of technology into the realm of medicine across the globe. It is this new-found passion that drew him to LCMS+ and its powerful functionality and potential to improve the medical field the world over.
Mary has 20 years’ experience in the field of learning technology and adult learning. She earned a Master’s and Ed.S. at New Mexico State University and has taught faculty, staff and graduate students for 10 years at the college level. Mary served as clinical faculty at both NMSU and Texas Wesleyan University, where she was instrumental in providing just-in-time training and workshops in effective uses of technology throughout the curriculum. Mary has also written many successful grants and is a sought-after presenter at state and national conferences. She was recently named President-Elect of her local chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international educational service organization, which focuses on mentoring early-career teachers and providing scholarships for women who have chosen education as their career.
Jim has been tinkering with computers all his life. From programming text games on a TI-99 in junior high school, to earning a master’s degree in Computer Science, his interest in solving problems with computers has only grown. Jim brings to LCMS+ a breadth of experience spanning custom database and web development, e-commerce programs, UI/UX solutions and hybrid mobile applications. Jim is the technical lead on a number of key initiatives designed to enhance the overall functionality of LCMS+, including extensive mobile and user experience improvements.
Jason is a systems administrator and programmer with over 20 years of experience in many different industries ranging from telecommunications and academia, to independent consulting and local broadcast television.
Jason’s senior-level experience has been instrumental in supporting and programming application and systems development for customers and clients such as Nortel Networks and the award-winning television station WRAL, as well as WRAL.com.
Wendy is a BSRN with over 15 years of experience in IT medical software startups. She has worked in the capacity of Business Development, Strategic Sales and Channel Team Management in healthcare, Fortune 500 and government markets. Wendy has a proven track record in working with with key C-level executives and team management and is an expert at defining technology value propositions, go-to-market strategies and tactical execution plans.
